Have you heard of the High School Brewery? Yes, you heard that right, Redcliffe State High School is brewing their own beer. They are the first Australian High School to do so and it’s open to the public on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Redcliffe State High School teachers, together with 3 Eagles Brewery developed a course that covers a multitude of skills for students enabling them to earn a Certificate III in Food Processing (Micro Brewing).
The course is for 16- to 18-year-olds, so although students aren’t allowed to sample the beer they brew, they also make non-alcoholic ginger beer that can be enjoyed by all. And here’s the best bit, if you’d like to try the beer on tap, grab a bite to eat and even take some home with you just stop by Redcliffe High School on Wednesdays 2:40pm to 4:00pm or Fridays 1:30pm to 4:00pm.
